The responsibilities of the Land Department consist of the following divisions. Surface Management Division This division leases and manages surface acres held in trust for various schools and institutions. Also, select this division for right-of-way information. Minerals Management Division Minerals Management Division administers mineral interests held in trust for the benefit of various schools and institutions of North Dakota. Unclaimed Property Division Unclaimed Property Division manages Financial Assets (not real estate) under the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act. Investments The Investment Division is responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating and monitoring all aspects of the Land Department's investment program. Energy Development Impact Office EDIO allocates funds appropriated by the state Legislature to assist local political subdivisions in dealing with problems arising from oil development. |
